Goal Posts Take A Trip At Neyland
It was utter chaos Saturday night on the field at Neyland Stadium Saturday night. A 40 yard field goal lumbered over the cross bar of the goal post with no time on the clock Saturday night and for the first time in 16 years, Tennessee slayed their goliath Alabama. Final score was 52-49. After the kick was signaled good, students and fans stormed the field and it was a sea of orange on the Neyland Stadium turf and cigars were all around. Students tore down both goal posts…one of the goal posts wound up in the Tennessee River, the other was marched down Cumberland. UT President Randy Boyd was asked how much that would cost and his response…”Doesn’t matter”. New goal posts have arrived and they are to be installed sometime today at Neyland.
