East Tennessee Sheriff’s Son To Be On Sex Offender Registry For Life
The son of an East Tennessee sheriff will spend the rest of his life on the sex offender registry list after being found guilty of sexual crimes. Brandon Lewis Lawson, who is the son of Hawkins County sheriff Ronnie Lawson pleaded guilty on Oct. 13th to four counts of attempted aggravated sexual battery. The four counts span across two years in 2018 and 2020, with alleged incidents in March and August 2018 as well as April and December 2020. No information about the victim or Lawson’s relationship to the victim was released. Attempted aggravated sexual battery is described as “knowingly and unlawfully attempting to have unlawful sexual contact that would have caused bodily injury to the victim” Lawson was sentenced to 20 years, but will serve one year in a local jail and then be on the sex offender registry for life.
