TWRA Confirms Euthanized Bear

The TWRA is confirming that the bear they euthanized on Sunday is the same bear that attacked a man in a Gatlinburg rental cabin on Saturday night. When they caught and euthanized the bear on Sunday, the TWRA took a DNA sample from the bear. That sample matched DNA samples that were collected at the scene, so they are sure they got the correct bear. That bear broke into the rental cabin through a pair of locked french doors that were not deadbolted. The bear surprised a man in the kitchen of the cabin and then rushed at the man leaving him with injuries to his face, head and back.
