Blount Co. Man Charged With Sevier Co. Woman’s Death

A man from Blount County is being charged in the death of a woman in Sevier County. The Sevier County Street Crimes/Narcotics Unit and Sevier County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division says that Blount County resident Scott Carmichael gave a woman drugs that contained fentanyl. That woman then died as the result of an overdose. Carmichael is now being charged with second degree murder in that case. He was in a jail in Connecticut when he was indicted by a Sevier County Grand Jury. He has been transported back to Sevier County to answer to the charge of second degree murder. Carmichael is currently in the Sevier County jail on a $500,000 bond.
