Abuse Case Drowns Sevier Co. Animal Care Center In Dogs
The Sevier County Animal Care Center is still in dire need of people to adopt dogs. The shelter was already near capacity with dogs when they were notified of a large animal abuse case. More than a dozen dogs were found in horrible conditions on Old Newport Highway in eastern Sevier County. Two of the dogs on the property were dead and several were injured. The Sevier Animal Care Center put out a plea to the public to adopt the dogs they already had on site. According to the center, over the weekend 16 dogs were either adopted or went on a trial adoption. The community also responded with donations of dog food and treats. The center is still in need of donations and still needs to have more dogs adopted. If you can help called 865-465-6300. The center is waiving adopting fees through February 11.
