Body Found In Greene Co. Field Believed To Be That Of Missing Girl
The body that was found early yesterday morning in a Greene County cornfield has been tentatively identified as a girl who has been missing since before Christmas. According to relatives, police have told them that the body is that of 16 year old Danielle Owens. She was last seen by her family on December 12th. Police told the family that the size of the body is a match and the clothing found with the body matches the description of what Danielle Owens was last seen wearing. Her family says she was fleeing from an abusive boyfriend when she went missing. The body was sent to the William L. Jenkins Forensic Center in Johnson City for official identification, and to determine the cause of death. The body was discovered shortly after midnight Tuesday when someone called in a possible body they had spotted in a field of Doughtys Chapel Road in Greene County.
