Greeneville Asst. Police Chief Arrested For Assault

The Greeneville Assistant Police Chief was arrested on Monday and charged with assault. According to the TBI, 51 year old Stephen Hixson assaulted a family member back on December 10th. The Greeneville Police Department requested the TBI launch an investigation into the matter. On Monday, a Greene County Grand Jury returned an indictment on the assault charge and Hixson turned himself in Monday afternoon. He posted $2,000 bond and was released pending an appearance in Greene County General Sessions Court. Hixson has been with the department for 25 years.
