Juvenile Charged With Aggravated Assault

Newport police were called to a home Sunday evening. 38 year old Adam Weider told police that his girlfriend’s 15 year old son had pulled a knife on him. Weidner stated he was in a verbal altercation with the juvenile when the knife was pulled and they were within two feet of each other. The juvenile admitted to police that out of anger he pulled the knife on Weidner. The knife was recovered and the 15 year old charged with aggravated assault and referred to juvenile court and released into the custody of the father.
