Newport PD Trying To Identify Theft Suspect

The Newport police department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who recently was seen shoplifting from Lowe’s. The man walked into Lowe’s with a shopping cart. He got a tote on the shelf then went to the outdoor power equipment aisle and grabbed two Husqvarna chainsaws, placed them in the cart, then went to the front of the store, bypassed the registers and walked right out. Lowe’s security cameras caught pictures of the man and they have been posted on the Newport Police department’s Facebook page. Value of those chainsaws was around $800.
