Greene County Firefighters Pull Man From Burning Car
Greene County Firefighters saved a man’s life Monday morning when they pulled him from a burning car. Early Monday a man was traveling on Interstate 81 where he suffered a medical emergency and went off the southbound ramp at exit 36. The man then hit a light pole and his vehicle caught fire. Baileyton Fire Chief Josh Ferguson and another volunteer firefighter were on the scene quickly and were able to get the man out of the car, sparing him from certain urn injury or possibly death. Authorities say the man was confused when he hit the light pole and could not get out of the vehicle. The unidentified man was then taken to Greeneville Community Hospital for treatment.
