Police Respond To Disturbance At Auto Zone
Police were dispatched to Auto zone in Newport for a man causing a disturbance in the parking lot. The man was beating on a car and taking it apart in the parking lot. 37 year old Carl Hurst told the responding officer that he was just having a bad day and was just working on his vehicle. The license plate and vin number on the car came back to a different vehicle and different owner. As police were taking him into custody, Hurst collapsed and went unresponsive. Narcan was administered and Hurst began to regain consciousness. It was then he told officers he had swallowed baggies of heroin. Mr. Hurst was transported to the Newport Medical Center.
