Break In Reported At Newport Storage

Police were called Monday to Newport Storage on West Broadway about a break in. The manager of the facility, Jared Malone showed police where an unknown individual had been apparently sleeping in an empty unit. There were clothing and other personal items spread across the floor. Police also were taken to 5 other units that had the locks broken off and the unit entered. Malone showed police still shots from the video surveillance system. The unknown male suspect apparently entered the facility on Friday and was last observed on camera Sunday. The manager was attempting to contact the renters of the units that had been opened to see if there was anything missing from those units. Malone estimated the damage to the doors and locks to be around $2,000.00
