Morristown Man Sentenced To 17 Plus Years In Prison
A Morristown man will spend more than 17 years behind bars after being sentenced in federal court in Greeneville last week. 55 year old Robert Lee Allen Jr. aka “Skeeter” had pled guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm. Allen had admitted in court that on February 14, 2022, he struck his spouse with a firearm and was arrested the next day for domestic assault. During a search of the vehicle, the firearm he used to assault his spouse was located. The firearm had been stolen from Cocke County. Allen admitted that he had acquired the firearm from another felon trading methamphetamine and heroin in exchange for the firearm. Allen already had prior, violent felony convictions for Second Degree Murder, Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Robbery, and Aggravated Burglary. He was sentenced last week to 210 months in prison…with five year’s probation afterwards.
