Dandridge Resident Appointed To Prestigious Position
A Dandridge resident now has a new job…and a very prestigious one. The U.S. Army has appointed Leslie Purser from Dandridge as a new Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army, Christine Wormouth. Purser was sworn into her new post on Tuesday at the Pentagon in Washington DC.
Leslie Purser is a decorated combat veteran who retired as an Army Major General after 37 years of service, and 17 years as a civilian on the Joint Staff. Currently she holds numerous positions in support of the military in East Tennessee, including president of the East Tennessee Military Affairs Council, former chair, and current military outreach coordinator of the Knoxville Committee for Employer Support to the National Guard and Army Reserve. She is also a member of the Jefferson County Kiwanis Club.
