Cocke County Deputies Respond To Active Break-In
Cocke County deputies were dispatched to an address on Fowlers Ridge Road earlier this week about an active break-in. On the way to the scene, deputy Jacob Sutton noticed a white Dodge Ram pickup leaving the area. A County Constable stopped and stayed with the truck while the deputy checked the house which was secure. The Deputy then returned to the white truck and spoke with 55 year old Mark Lewis and 50 year old April Weidener. They told the deputy they had run out of gas and were asking people for assistance. A check on Lewis showed him wanted for a failure to appear warrant in Hamblen County. Weidener on the other hand was wanted in Grainger County for felony possession of methamphetamine. Both were taken into custody, however Weidener was taken to Newport Medical Center to be checked out as she was complaining of shortness of breath. She was then transported to the Cocke County jail
