Man Wanted In Sevier County Arrested In Newport

A man wanted in Sevier County was arrested in Newport Monday after he was caught shoplifting at Love’s Travel Center. Love’s employees told police they had watched as 22 year old Brady Sherman had tried to conceal items in his backpack. When an employee confronted Sherman, he shoved her and fled from the store. Police spotted a man without a shirt that matched Sherman’s description a short time later. Sherman appeared to be under the influence of meth and was taken back to the store where Love’s employees confirmed he was the man who had stolen the items. Brady Sherman was charged with assault and theft under $1,000. He was also wanted in Sevier County for manufacture, delivery or possession of methamphetamine.
