Dove Hunting Season Opens Friday

Dove hunting season opens tomorrow in Tennessee, Friday September 1st at noon. You must have a valid state hunting license and a Tennessee Migratory Bird Permit with you at all times inorder to hunt doves in Tennessee. Doves are found throughout the state but are more prevalent on farmland. Keep in mind you need to have the landowner’s permission to hunt on private land. Dove hunting season in Tennessee is divided into three different segments, the first begins Friday and runs through September 28. The second is from Oct. 14-Nov. 5; and the final period for dove hunting is Dec. 8-Jan. 15. Hunting times each day, except Friday September 1st are one half hour before sunrise until sunset.
