Bybee Woman Arrested During Hwy 160 Checkpoint
The Cocke County sheriff’s office along with the Tennessee Highway Patrol conducted a sobriety checkpoint on Hwy 160 Friday evening. That checkpoint was at Fowlers Grove Road in the Bybee area. Police made two arrests, one of those individuals was 21 year old Paige Rice of Bybee. When she was stopped, officers could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from, her vehicle. Rice admitted to officers that she had smoked marijuana a couple hours prior, but performed well on field sobriety tests. However, Rice was found to be in possession of marijuana…approx. 25 grams. She was arrested and charged with felony simple possession.
