Car Crashes Into Home

Saturday night a woman in Newport was startled by a loud noise at her home on Graham Street. When she went outside to investigate what she called a loud boom…she noticed a vehicle had plowed into her home. Police say the vehicle’s owner came from across the street and stated that the 2014 Black Honda Civic was a manual shift and she may have not had the emergency brake on. A police officer investigated and found the Honda was in neutral and the parking brake was not engaged, so, the vehicle just rolled across the street and crashed into the neighbor’s home. There was damage to the home’s concrete crawl space wall and damage to the Honda Civic’s front end.
