Man Paid In Counterfeit Cash
A Cocke County man called the Cocke County sheriff’s office this week and stated that he had sold a motor for a pressure washer and had been paid in fake money. Richard Miller told the sheriff’s office that he had sold the motor for a Honda pressure washer for $80 to a man named David Larkin, who paid him with four $20 bills. Miller says the next day he got to noticing the cash did not feel right, so he immediately called law enforcement. A deputy took possession of the cash which was confirmed to be counterfeit. David Larkin reportedly left Miller’s residence in a white 4 wheel drive Dodge pickup. No charges have been filed in that case due to lack of evidence.
