Gas Prices Drop In Tennessee
It doesn’t seem like it here, but gas prices in Tennessee have actually gone down in the last week. That’s according to the AAA who says the average gas price in Tennessee has dropped to $3.31 a gallon. That puts Cocke County near the state average, as most stations are sitting at $3.25.
In Sevier County, you’ll find prices cheaper, with some stations being as low as $3.02 a gallon, but the average being $3.09. Jefferson County prices average around $3.23 a gallon. Greene County averages $3.08, Hamblen County has the highest prices at $3.29.
Tennessee has the fifth lowest gas prices in the nation with the national average being $3.79. Mississippi has the cheapest at $3.22 and the highest prices can be found where else but California…the average price there is $6.02. The only state where gas is $6 a gallon. To tell you how bad that as, the next closest state is Washington with an average of $5.13. Even Hawaii is quite a bit lower at $4.88.
