Woman Attempting To Shoplift Arrested On Drug Charges
A woman was arrested on drug charges after she was caught trying to shoplift clothing. Employees at Tractor Supply in Newport called police about a female subject going into the fitting room, putting on unpaid for clothing and trying to wear it under her jacket as a way to get out of the store without paying. The female subject was identified as 22 year old Andrea Holmes. She had taken the tags and labels off of three shirts, put them on and then covered the shirts with her jacket. That was just the beginning of her trouble as a search of her purse found 2 syringes with a brown liquid and a baggie with .35 grams of methamphetamine. She faces charges of possession of schedule II narcotics, theft under $1,000 and public intoxication.
