Man Found With Drugs In His Pocket, Claims They Were Not His
Cocke County deputies responded to a call Thursday morning about an abandoned truck blocking both lanes in the 300 block of Carson Springs Road. Deputy Miranda Williams found a 2002 White Chevy Silverado Registered to Shannon Ray Wilson blocking both lanes of travel. The driver was nowhere in sight. The truck was towed out of the way and Wilson was contacted. He told the deputy that he had ran out of gas. Wilson, though appeared to be under the influence and was arrested for driving while under the influence. While deputies were taking him into custody, Wilson kept reaching into his right pocket. Deputies found a container with approximately 1 gram of suspected Methamphetamine inside that pocket. Wilson stated that the container was not his, he had found it in his truck, and did not know what was in it. He was charged with possession of schedule II drugs.
