Stolen Cadillac Recovered

Police recovered a stolen Cadillac in Newport on Wednesday. Police had been called around 8:30 Wednesday evening after OnStar had tracked a stolen vehicle which was pinging to the parking lot of Michael’s Bar next to the Best Western Hotel in Newport. Officers arrived and found the 215 Cadillac SUV and verified that it had been stolen in Virginia. 29 year old Kaden Haney was the only one in the vehicle. He told police he did not know that it was stolen and that he had borrowed the SUV from 39 year old Michael Massengill earlier in the day. Officers contacted Massengill via phone and he stated he borrowed the vehicle from a friend by the name of Crystal Williams. Massengill agreed to come to the scene and meet with police, but never showed. Officers contacted Crystal Williams who stated that Massengill had stolen the vehicle on October 2 in Virginia. Kaden Haney was charged with possession of stolen property. A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Michael Massengill charging him with felony theft over $1,000.
