Police Looking for Jewelry Thieves

Newport police are on the lookout for jewelry thieves. Loss prevention at Wal-Mart stated that on Tuesday around 3:35pm, surveillance video captured two subjects identified as 33 year old Ashley Morgan and 47 year old Carl Meece. Footage showed them taking jewelry from under the Jewelry Case, then taking that jewelry to the Lawn and Garden area where they opened the jewelry, and left the empty cases in the shopping cart. The pair then fled from the store with nearly $2400 in unpaid jewelry.

Police say they later recovered those pieces of jewelry at Newport Jewelers and after they had been pawned by Ashley Morgan for $285.00 dollars.
