Two Arrested In Jefferson Co; Two Month Old Child Dead

Two people in Jefferson County are in jail this ,morning. This after a 2 month old child was found at a home in New Market not breathing. Firefighters from the New Market Fire Department were the first on the scene and performed CPR prior to EMS arriving. The 2 month old male infant was transported to Jefferson Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Investigators with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s office arrived and would up arresting two individuals, 36 year old Nick Lay and 33 year old Chelsea Marsh. Both have been charged with Aggravated Child Neglect and Abuse; Possession of Schedule VI Marijuana for resale and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. It is not known at this time if they are the infant boy’s parents. The Knoxville Forensics Center is performing an autopsy on the child to determine a cause of death.
