Jefferson Co Man Arrested On Child Pornography Charges
A Jefferson County man has been taken into custody on charges relating to child pornography. According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s office, on August 30th of this year, The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children received a cyber tip of uploaded child pornography images to a public website. The child pornography images were found to be uploaded by using an IP address that came back to a residence on Bales Road in New Market. That information was forwarded to the Jefferson City Police Department. Following an investigation, late last week the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department arrested a man identified as Ty Elmer Abbot. He was arrested and charged with 16 counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, Distribute/Sell Materials. Abbott was also charged with Violation of the Tennessee Sex Offender Registry as he unlawfully failed to timely disclose required information to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office in a compliance check in September, which is a felony. He is in custody at the Jefferson County Detention Center in Dandridge under a $100,000 bond.
