Cocke County Man Cited For Reckless Burning

With all the fires burning around the area, a Cocke County man has been cited for reckless burning. The Cocke County Sheriff’s office says they were contacted after people saw a fire burning unattended. A deputy reposnded to the site on Leisure Circle and found multiple items including pressure treated wood burning with no one monitoring the fire. The fire was in the same location as several other unattended fires in the past on the property owned by Milton Edgardo Antunez Nunez. Cocke County, like Jefferson and Sevier Counties, is under a burn ban. No burn permits are being issued at this time.
