Man Trespassed From Food City

Newport Police were dispatched to the area of Food City on Thursday night in reference to a theft. Police had been advised that Larry Galaviz was on his way to Food City to steal alcohol. When officer Paul Webber arrived, he observed Mr. Galaviz walking past the registers. When confronted, Mr. Galaviz was found to have a bottle of wine concealed inside his backpack. He addimitted to stealing the wine because he had no money. Food City’s Manager advised that the store did want to prosecute for the theft. Mr. Galaviz was placed under arrest and was advised that he was now trespassed from Food City properties.
