Builder Has Tools Stolen From Trailer
A man building homes in Cocke County has been hit by thieves. Kenneth Sweeney of Rogersville told the Cocke County Sheriff’s department that he is currently building two homes inside the Emerald Point area on Moss Springs Road. He stated that on Tuesday, he was working at one of the homes when he noticed a red Mazda hatchback pull into the other home’s drive. Someone got out of that Mazda and began messing in a trailer he had on that site. When Sweeney went to investigate, the person in the Mazda drove off. However, not before they stole over $1200 worth of tools from the trailer. Those included several Makita power tools, some of which have “KVS” marked on them.
Sweeney was able to get a license plate number. The sheriff’s office is looking for a red Mazda hatchback with a tag number of 742-BKHJ. The car came back registered to a person out of Anderson County. Anyone with information, or anyone who spots that red Mazda with that tag number should call the Cocke County Sheriff’s office.
