Longtime White Pine Firefighter Passes at 60
Emergency personnel in Jefferson County are remembering a fallen colleague this week. Mike Romines of White Pine passed away last Thursday at the age of 60 after battling several health issues. Mike Romines was a 10 year member of the Dandridge Fire Department, but also spent 35 years as a member of the Jefferson County Rescue Squad. He was also the former chief of the Baneberry Fire Department. But, Mike spent 39 years with the White Pine Fire Department. His family says in lieu of flowers, they are asking that memorial donations be made to the White Pine Fire Department.
Visitation for Mike Romines will be this Thursday, February 22 from 5:00 and 7:00pm at First Baptist Church in White Pine. A funeral Service will follow at 7. Mike Romines will then be laid to rest at a graveside service at 2pm Friday in the White Pine Cemetery.
