Trauma Ruled Out As Cause Of Death For Woman Found In Del Rio

Trauma has been ruled out as a cause of death regarding the woman whose body was found in Del Rio over a week ago. The woman’s body was found on February 23, 15 feet down an embankment off Punkton Road.

According to the Cocke County Sheriff’s office, a preliminary report by the Knoxville Forensics Center stated there were no signs of trauma on the body. The Forensics Center is awaiting toxicology reports before they can determine an exact cause of death. The toxicology report could take several weeks. The woman has been identified, but that information is not being released to the public at this time, as the sheriff’s office it trying to notify the next of kin. Those family members live out of state.

The Cocke County Sheriff’s office will release more information when it becomes available regarding this case.
