Morristown PD Presents 25th Citizens Police Academy

The Morristown Police Department is getting ready to present their 25th Citizen’s Police Academy. Those that attend the academy will become familiar with the Morristown Police Department through hands-on exercises. Attendees also be allowed to complete an 8-hour ride along with an officer. Upon completion of the course, those citizens participating will have a better understanding of the daily operations of the police department.

Academy classes will begin June 4, 2024, and end June 25, 2024. Classes will be held at the Police Department each Tuesday and Thursday night from 6:00p.m.until 10:00p.m. Applications are now available to the public and can be picked up at the Morristown Police Department located on the 1st floor of the Morristown City Center or on the City’s website mymorristown.com under the police department tab. Due to limited space, applications will be accepted on a first come first serve basis. Application deadline is April 19. Applicants must be 21 years of age and will have to undergo a background check. Those who miss the 25th Citizen’s Police Academy because of the limited space, will have the opportunity to attend the 26th academy. The date for that will be announced at a later date.
