One Killed In Newport Accident

One person was killed and two others injured in an accident on Cosby Hwy in Newport last week. According to Newport police, 41 year old Toran Hedgepath was driving northbound on Cosby Hwy in Newport around 12:40 pm Thursday, when a vehicle driven by 61 year old Steve Walker heading southbound turned in front of Hedgepath at the intersection with Templin Street. Both Hedpepath and Walker were seriously injured and transported to the UT Medical Center in Knoxville. The passenger in Walker’s vehicle, 57 year old Geneva Fillers of Newport was transported to the Newport Medical Center where she died from her injuries.
