Three Vols Drafted On Day Three Of NFL Draft
It took until day three of the NFL Draft for a Tennessee Volunteer to hear their name called from the podium in Detroit, but it finally happened when running back Jaylen Wright was taken in the 4th round by the Miami Dolphins. Wright was taken with the 120th overall pick of the draft. Also taken on day three were quarterback Joe Milton III who went 193rd overall in the sixth round to the New England Patriots. Cornerback Kamal Hadden was selected with the 211th overall pick in the sixth round by the reigning Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs. Jaylen Wright was the first SEC running back off the board and is the highest drafted Tennessee running back since Alvin Kamara was drafted in the third round by the New Orleans Saints in 2017 at No. 67 overall.
Several more former Vols are headed to the NFL after signing as non-drafted free agents. Those signing with teams are wide receiver Ramel Keyton by the Las Vegas Raiders, tight end McCallan Castles signed by the Eagles; TE Jacob Warren signed with the New England Patriots; defensive back Dee Williams and linebacker Aaron Beasley were both signed by the Seattle Seahawks; defensive back Jaylen McCullough signed with the LA Rams; offensive tackle Jeremiah Crawford is headed to Charlotte with the Carolina Panthers; and cornerback Gabe Jeudy-Lally stays put in Tennessee as he has signed with the Titans.
