Argument Leads To Aggravated Assault Charge
An argument between two men resulted in a stabbing near the Fox and Hounds Restaurant Monday night. A woman, Sindi Shortsie, stated that she was in an argument with 38 year old Brandon McGill behind the Fox and Hounds bar and that she called for help before McGill grabbed her phone and threw it into a nearby yard. Witnesses stated they heard McGill threaten to shoot Shortsie as well.
According to witnesses, Shortsie’s brother Robert Seaman came to her aid and during the scuffle, McGill produced a pocket knife and stabbed Seaman four times in the chest. After being treated on the scene, Robert Seaman was airlifted to the UT Medical Center in Knoxville.
McGill told police that he did argue with Sindi Shortsie and did not throw her phone. He also admitted to a fight between he and Seaman, but claims that he blacked out and did not remember stabbing Seaman. The knife was not found. McGill suffered injuries to his face during the fight and was transported via ambulance to UT in Knoxville. Security at UT Medical Center was advised that McGill was being charged with Aggravated Assault and was not to be released but would be placed into police custody upon his medical discharge.
