Man Threatens Girlfriend With Machete And Shotgun

Cocke County deputies were called to a home in Cosby Tuesday after a woman called for help saying her boyfriend was trying to kill her. Deputies arrived at the home on Buckeye Drive and found the 51 year old victim outside the home. She told law enforcement that 52 year old Jimmy Greene was inside the home with a shotgun and could kill them all. Deputies had been sent to the home on Monday after the victim said Greene had held a machete to her throat on two occasions accusing her of cheating on him. On Tuesday morning she stated that Greene got up and once again accused her of cheating telling her “Today would be a good day for both of us to die”.

The victim told deputies Greene had taken her car keys and does not allow her to leave the residence and controls her phone. She was able to get the phone though and send a text message to a friend for help as she was in fear for her life.

Greene finally came out of the home unarmed and was taken into custody. Inside the home, deputies found a black machete and shotgun shells on the couch. They also located a shotgun that looked like it had been thrown under a bed. Jimmy Greene is facing a charge of Aggravated Domestic Assault.
