Soaky Mountain Water Park Announces New Addition

Soaky Mountain Water Park has announced a new addition for 2025. How about a first of its kind water slide that puts six people in a raft for a water slide like no other. “Rafter’s Rage” will start six people in a raft out at roughly eight stories in the air and span 825 feet as riders in the raft whip down the slide. Riders will get up to speeds of 19 miles an hour as they make their way down the twists and turns of “Rafter’s Rage”.

Soaky Mountain Water Park General Manager Dave Andrews says this water ride is not like your typical water slides with high banking turns and steep drops because instead it will feature four artfully crafted arcs that rafts will laterally accelerate over sideways. Andrews calls it a thrilling drifting experience —a world’s first for a water slide — will extend a rider’s zero G feeling, “making it an incredible attraction.”

The slide is being built adjacent to the park’s Avalanche water coaster and behind the Black Bear Rapids Adventure River. It is estimated to be completed in time for the start of next season in May of 2025. Season passes for 2025 will be available starting August 12, 2024 for $99.99 and include one guest daily admission ticket.
