Charges Filed After Drugs Found In Inhaler
A man was arrested over the weekend after being found with meth in a unique place. A Newport police officer spotted a Jeep Renegade leave from an area known for drug activity. That Jeep was pulled over in the Coin Laundry on Hwy 25-70. The driver, 60 year old James Huff, was found to be driving on a revoked license, so he was taken into custody. A search of the vehicle turned up an asthma inhaler sytuffed between the drivers seat and the center console. A paper towel was sticking out of the mouthpiece. When the paper towel was removed, three small baggies of a yellow substance believed to be methamphetamine were found. Huff is now charged with possession of schedule II narcotics.
