Accused Bank Robber Back In Tennessee
The man accused of robbing the downtown branch of the Newport Federal Bank back in March is now back in Tennessee. Jeremiah Senter was arrested in Los Angeles on March 28, six days after robbing the bank and getting away with nearly $3,000. Senter was being held in the Los Angeles County Detention Center since his arrest. Asst. Chief Deputy Chuck Evans and Sgt. Blake Cupp of the Cocke County Sheriff’s office made a flight recently to Los Angeles and escorted Senter back to East Tennessee. Senter is currently being held on a $250,000 bond and is being housed in the Greene County Detention Center.
Senter walked into the downtown branch of Newport Federal Bank on the afternoon of Friday March 22, handed the teller a note saying he had a gun and demanded money. Senter then fled from the bank and was later tracked down in California.
