Arrest Made After Raid At Home
Cocke County Narcotics officers along with the SWAT team and the Newport Police Department, served a narcotics search warrant on a suspected drug house Wednesday. That home located on Sugar Hill Way. Inside the home, officers found 20 year old Ean Shropshire, who had 7.7 grams of heroin in his possession along with a .410 shotgun. In the room that his 40 year old mother, Heather Verdier sleeps in, officers found 15 grams of methamphetamine under the mattress. Shropshire was arrested on scene and charged with possession of schedule I narcotics with intent to sell and being in possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. Heather Verdier was not at home. A warrant has been sworn out for her arrest possession of schedule II narcotics with intent to sell.
After the raid of the home, the sheriff’s office put up one of the now famous “Sold Out” signs in the front yard.
