Authorities Awaiting Identification Confirmation Of Burned Body Found In Grainger County
Morristown police and the TBI are awaiting autopsy results and final confirmation that a burned body found in Cherokee Lake in Grainger County is that of 26 year old Skyler Etgen of Morristown. Etgen was reported missing on January 25th after his parents told police they had no contact with him since he left his job at Kawasaki of Tennessee that day. A duck hunter in the Tate Springs access area of Cherokee Lake in Grainger County spotted a silver Mazda matching the car that Etgen had been driving. K-9 officers from Morristown discovered a burned body near that car. The tags on the Mazda matched up with documents from Skyler Etgen leading police to believe the body is that of the missing man. Skyler Etgen’s family is said to be in shock over the news that his body may have been found.
