Bear Destroys Car Interior

A Cosby woman will be contacting her insurance company after the inside of her SUV was completely destroyed by…a bear. Around 1am Wednesday morning, Beulah Underwood heard what sounded like a car door shutting outside their residence. When she went to investigate, she saw a bear had gotten into her 2007 Honda Pilot SUV and could not get out. The bear had chewed on the interior and destroyed most of the electronics so they could not be used to unlock the doors. A Cocke County deputy responded and the decision was made to break a window of the SUV. The deputy fired two 12 gauge bean bag shots at a rear window breaking it out. Once the window was broken out, the bear cautiously climbed out of the car and ran off. The bear did not appear to be injured. Can’t say the same thing for Beulah Underwood’s SUV.
