Billboard Vandalized Along I-40

The Cocke County Sheriff’s office is trying to find out who vandalized a billboard along I-40 west last week. Richard Lawson with Lamar Advertising out of Knoxville contacted the sheriff’s office last Thursday saying that their system had detected that the lights on a billboard alond the frontage road, which is Deerwood Road were not working. Rod Kimerling, the operations manager for Lamar was sent out to investigate and found that someone had spliced into the electrical box for the billboard. Someone had also ran wires to that box that went to an unknown location. All of the lights for the billboard had been were missing. There are no suspects in that vandalism at this time.
