Budget Committee Meeting Next Week

Coming on the heels of passing the county budget earlier this week the Cocke County Budget Committee has a meeting scheduled for next Tuesday July 6th at 4pm in the Chancery Courtroom. On Monday the CLB passed the budget for the county….that kept the county’s tax rate at $2.56. Other items in that budget was a 3% cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) for all county employees, a $2,000 salary increase for Sheriff’s Office and Jail employees, a raise in pay for part time convenience center employees and a $2,000 increase in funding for volunteer fire departments.
