Busy Night Saturday For Police At Wal-Mart
Police were called to the Wal-Mart in Newport Saturday night in reference to a vandalized vehicle. Brittany Ball told police that she parked her Ford pickup at Wal-Mart and went into the store. She noticed her ex-husband in the store but ignored him. When she came back out, her pickup would not start. A Good Samaritan checked under the hood and found the wire leading to the started had been cut. Police checked video footage and noticed a multi-colored pickup truck pulled up next to Ball’s truck. A suspect got out of that truck and disappeared between the two pickups, before resurfacing on the video, getting in his truck and driving off. Ball stated her ex-husband has a friend who drives a truck of that description, The suspect’s name is Aaron Sutton. Police are investigating.
Meanwhile Saturday night, inside Wal-Mart two women were arrested for theft. The tow had been caught by Wal-Mart loss prevention, switching barcodes on items. According to police the two women, Brittany Fine and Heather Vance had rung up over $708 worth of merchandise, but because of switching barcodes had only paid $202…value of the theft was $506. While searching Brittany Fine she was found to be in possession of a bag with methamphetamine residue plus Gabapentin pills and 3 grams of heroin. Police have charged her with schedule I,III, and V narcotics possession along with the theft charge. Heather Vance was also charged with larceny.
