Catholic Charities Offering Free Ride To Get Covid Vaccine
If you would like to get the Covid vaccine, but don’t have wheels to get there…here’s a little help. Catholic Charities of East Tennessee (CCETN) will provide free rides to East Tennessee residents who do not currently have transportation to their Covid-19 vaccination appointments. To receive the assistance, residents just need to provide the address, time, and date of their vaccination appointment(s). Transportation assistance will then be provided electronically via rideshare gift cards and/or gas cards. Exemptions can be made for those who cannot use electronic gift cards. Officials with Catholic Charities say that this program is on a first come first served basis until funds are depleted. Interested residents are encouraged to take advantage of this program as soon as possible. To register for transportation assistance, you can visit CCETN.org/VaccineRides or call Michelle Kitts at 865.963.4725.
The free transportation to Covid vaccine appointments is being funded by an Amerigroup Insurance grant.
