CCSO Investigating Case Of Vandalism

The Cocke County Sheriff’s office investigating a case of vandalism that caused several thousand dollar’s worth of damage to a man’s vehicle. Larry Caldwell of Newport showed a deputy the damage done to his 2019 Hyandi Elantra. He had come out of his residence Saturday to find that all four windows were busted out of the cars, as well as both side mirrors busted along with the touch screen radio inside the car. A deputy spotted a bb sitting among the shards of glass within the interior of the car. The damage consistent with being shot by a bb gun. Nearby neighbors with children all stated that their children did not have bb guns. Caldwell stated that the damage to the vehicle was estimated at $6,000. No arrests have ben made due to lack of evidence pointing to a suspect.
