CCSO Releases Identity Of Body Found In Del Rio

The Cocke County Sheriff’s office has confirmed the identity of the woman that was found 15 feet down an embankment in the Del Rio area about 10 days ago. The sheriff’s office says the body found around 3pm Friday February 23 is that of 26 year old Michella Day. She is originally from California but has been living at a residence in Hamblen County.

The Knoxville Forensics Center has not confirmed a cause of death yet, as they are waiting on Toxicology reports. However, they do say there were no signs of trauma on the body. How her body wound up down an embankment off a remote location on Punkton Road in the Del Rio area is a mystery the Cocke County Sheriff’s office is still working to solve. The sheriff’s office is asking that if anyone knows anything about this case, to please call the Cocke County Sheriff’s office.
