CCSO Reports Drug Bust- Over $6000 Cash Seized

The Cocke County Sheriff’s office executed a search warrant as part of a drug investigation, that led to the arrest of a Newport man and the confiscation of drugs, guns and cash. Investigators found 7 grams of meth, approximately 3 grams of cocaine, plus assorted pills being Oxycodone, fentanyl, hydrocodone and adderall. Also found in that residence, 26 pounds of marijuana. Two weapons were also found, a Glock 19 9mm handgun and a Smith & Wesson .38 caliber revolver. In addition to the drugs and guns, officers seized $6455.00 in cash.

29 year old Ricky Wood is charged with the sale and delivery of numerous illegal narcotics, drug paraphernalia, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a felony. His bond was set at $200,000. The sheriff’s office says this investigation is ongoing.
